Our preseason tune-up programs fulfill a wide spectrum of needs, giving you a distinct advantage over other sportsmen and their dogs in the hunting fields come opening day.
Your spaniel is a hard working athlete demanding physical conditioning. Proper conditioning builds strength, wind and stamina. All lead to better bird finding, longer endurance and faster recovery times. These in turn help assure longer, more enjoyable days afield. Having a dog physically fit prior to the impending hunting season greatly reduces the risk of sports related injuries once the season and heavy workload begins. Proper conditioning offers this two-fold advantage.
Making your spaniel sharp and responsive to all commands assures you better control and quieter handling, which is less disturbing to game. It will give you more and better shooting opportunities along with piece of mind in the hunting field.
All these can be accomplished through a High Prairie Farms Flushing Spaniels preseason tune-up. We offer great expanses of ground and cover to run your dog. Pigeons, pheasants and chukars are readily available for training. We have the time to run your dog on birds daily.
Your dog’s preseason tune-up may be a matter of weight reduction, increased running for cardio fitness, tuning up responses to commands, increased experience on birds or working on certain field situations. Whatever your preseason needs, High Prairie Farms Flushing Spaniels can develop a program to help assure you a quality dog performance for the season opener and throughout the entire season.
The demands on a hunting spaniel are extreme. All hunting spaniels require crisp and clean control. At the same time, they must be properly conditioned to excel in the demands of the hunting field. The price for this service is $700 (U.S.) per month, plus the cost of birds used for training. Bird prices vary upon species and seasonal costs. We only offer this service from August 1st through October 1st each year. We do require a minimum of six weeks for this service. Openings are limited. Please book your reservations early to assure your spot.
